Unseen Hands
A large group of young people met for prayer while Tekle evangelized in Asmara. One of them prophesied to him, "My son, I have given Sister to be your wife." Because he felt the presence of the Lord in the prayer, Tekle took this seriously and started dating the girl, only to learn that her interests lay in worldly ac tivities, not in evangelism.
He decided then to give up the idea of marriage and to live a celibate life. He had sought God with all of his heart and had received onlychanged plans for an answer; however, while praying in Addis a few weeks later, the Lord told him plainly: "I have prepared a wife for you
from the southern part of Ethiopia and not of your tribe. Do not expect people to find her for you. I Myself will unite you with My choice, and you will work for Me together."
A farmer named Segaro lived in a village called Benara in Kambata District of Shoa Province. Knowing nothingofGod and His Word, he worshiped demons under the leadership of his uncle, a powerful witch doctor. He
grew so discontented with his bondage that he planned to kill his uncle and nm away, perhaps to start a new life in another village.
The witch doctor discerned his intentions and threat ened, "I will kill your sons if you do not serve me with all of your heart."
Something in Segaro rebelled against the age-old traditions of evil, even though he knew nothing else to believe in. He could not hide the deep distress of his soul; consequently, his uncle killed his two oldest sons.
