TTien Came the Glory
Brother Daniel's house in Woze Shara." His fellow-travelers shared the fervent "Amen!"
They opened their eyes to see a white line easily visible on the ground. With gratitude Hezkiel said, "Walk on
this line; it is the road to Brother Daniel's house." The line ended at his front door.
God gave them fruit for their labor; three people
obeyed the gospel and so began the church at Woze Shara. As Hezkiel walked down the road one night with his
son Ayele and another brother on their way to a meeting on the farm, members of COPWE roughly grabbed them. They
yelled to the workers, "Come help us; the Pentes will spoil our youth." The brother and his son slipped away from the
mob, but they beat Hezkiel unmercifully. When they wanted to castrate him like an ox, recalling the scripture 2 Peter
2:19-23, he did not resist. God spared his life by one of the revolutionary leaders saying, "Wait. We must not kill him ourselves; we should hand him over to the law. We will
detain him in our prison."
Some whispered among themselves, "We will return
and finish this work later."
Ayele ran home and cried, "The COPWE are killing
my father!" His oldest brother ALemayehu, a soldier on leave from the battle front, and some of the brothers hurried
to report the attack to the police who sent an armed escort with them. When the police got there, they found the men outside boasting what they had done.
The police asked, "Where is Hezkiel who has been
reported dead?"
The leader replied, "We haven't taken action against
him, yet."
