We say a god who can be broken is a degraded no-
god. The time has come to praise the only true, living God whose name is Jesus.
Saved during Brother Wendell's short time in
Ethiopia, Brother Teferi has bravely endured twenty years of
persecution~the whole time of his ministry. Arrested and released over and over, his home destroyed and rebuilt
several times, he also faced the bitter sorrow of having no
place to bury his dead, even on his own land.
In spite of all his hardships, his witness brought
many wizards and their patients into the Kingdom who had no hope until he gave them the gospel. Now, at last, he has
established a church in Li)^ Hamussie, received graveyard
rights, and enjoys many blessings. Because of the conversion of many Evangelicals, he recently opened a branch church. After Brother Tassew laid a good foundation in
Gojjam, he came to Debre Berhan in 1992, bought a house and opened a church. This is a place of no religion except for the Orthodox. He knew to live here, he would possibly face death. Just after he began the work, the Amhara went to a Full Gospel prayer meeting and severely beat the people
gathered to pray; several died.
God has raised up capable men to assist Tassew who
have no fear of death and a mighty revival is sweeping across the land.
In the Gurage tribe, many different dialects are
spoken in the Butajira region. Other religions and even missionaries have tried to establish their beliefs in different
places among the Gurages, but nothing has lasted among these people except the Orthodox and Islams who cannot lift
them out of their sins. Opposition from the people have defeated most efforts.
