Then Came the Glory
chairman of the prison respect and love me, so that we avoided many of the problems that prisoners usually have. The chairman said, "Four days before you came, a man I did not know came to me as I sat alone in my office and told
me,'Messengers of God will come to this jail. Take care of them.' I do not understand if perhaps the man is an angel,
but I am at your service."
We had many discussions on the scriptures and
became well acquainted. He testified to the commanders of the prison, "Since these men of God came to this jail,
everything is peaceful. Before they came we had many sick
prisoners and deaths often, now everyone recovers and none has died."
I went to him one day with a request, "The man who is sentenced to death has requested me to baptize him. I will
be grateful if you can help us find a way."
He answered, "I'm glad he wants to obey the Lord,
and I'll do my best to help him. I'll let you know as soon as
possible."
He called me two days later and said, "I found the
answer-here in the jail."
Surprised and happy, I asked, "Where?"
He told me about a partly buried water tank unused
at the moment. I rejoiced that God had prepared this for a
needy soul inside the prison compound. The Chairman came to the prison the next morning at four o'clock, sent soldiers
to bring me and the condemned man and ordered other soldiers to fill the tank with water. By a wondrous miracle,
I baptized a man waiting to die in the name of Jesus.
We had applied to different officials for our release
explaining we had been imprisoned unlawfully. They finally released us on the fifty-fifth day. Brother Yohaimes
