Estifanos, the condemned man wanted to sing one song for us before we left, so we went to his ceil. As he sang about the remission of his sin weeping the Spirit of the Lord fell on him and he glorified God with other tongues, rolling on the ground. We praised our God with tears because of His great
goodness.
After a few days I went back to the prison and
baptized eighteen more souls in Jesus name with the aid of the prison Chairman and the chief guards. We rejoiced that our time spent in jail gave us twenty-three souls.
Brother Yohannes asked reconsideration of his case and got transferred to Addis Ababa jail where he witnessed
faithfully sending a stream of seekers, whose trials ended, to us for baptism.
I applied to the regional Attorney's office and received permission to preach the Gospel freely and asked that the cases of our brethren who suffered persecution should be solved lawfully. As a result, the executives of twelve localities were called to the head office and commanded not to give us any more problems. This gave us liberty to worship freely.
Those who had opposed us died with the plague and
the rest went to the wizards and to wise elders for advice and
both of them gave the same answer; "Stop opposing these
people because they worship one God. You can't eliminate them by opposition, and if you continue, God will bring
more plagues on this place."
Some hardened their hearts, because God wanted to
teach a lesson on what happens to people who oppose His work. Many more prominent ones died with the plague and the others terrified said, "We must be careful not to do anything against these Pentes, all those who came against
