Then Came the Glory
They left the place forever.
When the persecutors in Butajera failed to abolish
our religion, they consulted with famous, much trusted
wizards and asked them to destroy us with their magic. They
answered, "They have a mighty God, so you cannot
challenge them, but you will not die if you do not oppose them."
They did not listen and continued their strong opposition against us and in three months time thousands of people died of a strange disease that resembled malaria. None of the saints contracted the illness and from that time
people feared to come against us.
When all the attempts at sorcery failed, our
opponents devised a new plan to prevent their members
coming to us. In night services they put reflective white cloth robes on four men and spot-lighted them with a large
flashlight, announcing to their members, "The angels have come, let us rejoice with loud voices."
This succeeded three times before the police found the men rehearsing in the Jungle and exposed the farce.
Disgusted, many of the people came to the true gospel.
