FROM THE BEGINNING By TEKLE
Through heart hunger and the earnest prayers of the
Ethiopians a widespread outpouring of the Holy Ghost began in Ethiopia four years before Missionaries of the United
Pentecostal Church came. By God's grace, I led blessed
Holy Spirit revivals in many different areas and conducted night fellowship meetings in several places in Addis Ababa for three years before the Lord commanded me to go to Awassa, Sidamo, in 1969. On a visit to believers in Addis later that year I read in an American bulletin about the arrival of the Kenneth Wendells and we met by the will of God. I received the revelation of baptism in the name of Jesus, and the oneness of the Godhead through a tract Sister Wendell sent me, and I obeyed the Word.
God sent great revival in Awassa and the whole Sidamo region before I knew the whole truth, and with the truth, the flame of blessing leaped higher and spread farther-
over ten thousand souls baptized.
