02 Order in the stock
The past six months or so has seen an influx
in patients turning to pharmacy for weight
loss support with the highly anticipated
launch of Wegovy in September 2023.
With this influx, came turbulence in the
market, with difficulties relating to stock
availability to provide patients with the
service they required for weight loss, which
in some circumstances lead to the off-
license prescribing of Ozempic, leading to
a stock shortage and strain on pharmacy
to support their type 2 diabetes patients
needing their prescriptions, and drug
safety alerts with the concerns of falsified

Ozempic and Saxenda products in the
market.
Lilly's new product Mounjaro has entered
the market as the ‘hero’ to enable pharmacy
to meet patient demand without the
limit on availability. The 2.5mg and 5mg
strengths are currently available with no
foreseen issues on availability, with the
remaining strengths to follow in the coming
months.
We’re so pleased to partner with Lilly to be
able to provide Mounjaro via our PHOENIX
distribution services to our member
pharmacies in a DtP distribution model.
Members can order Mounjaro via their
usual order route, PMR, My-PIN or
PHOENIX customer services.
