Try and ensure you stock a comprehensive
range of Pharmacy Exclusive products as
these can only be sold in Pharmacies and
offer a point of difference for patients.
Merchandise products by category followed
by function format and brand. E.g. the gastro
range should have all products merchandised
together and split into functions such as
heart burn relief then into formats such as
tablets followed by liquids and brand blocked.
This customer centric approach will help
patients navigate the range effectively.”
Eye level is buy level! Ensure your top selling
categories are towards the top end of the
bay, these are ranges people will be looking
for at a glance e.g. pain, gastro, children’s
medicines.
Try and offer a selection of products across
key categories to ensure that all patient
needs are covered to optimise space avoid
duplication of products.
Ensure shelves are clean - it may seem
basic however dust can build up quickly
and is often overlooked. You don’t want to
compromise your opportunity.

Ensure products are organized logically in
pack size order (e.g pack sizes small to large).
Allocate space to each category according
to its position in the hierarchy, giving priority
to higher-ranking categories.
Merchandise decongestants near to
allergy if possible, this is often a cross shop
opportunity especially between seasons.
