APM and over tariff warnings

At PSUK we work hard to ensure that the APM generics scheme keeps the
impact of concessions at a minimum for members. Concessions are market
driven and out of our control – but through our keys proposition we are able
to support from an availability perspective but also protect from short term
spikes in pricing.
Availability is key in dispensing doctors - we know what our members order
from us monthly and purchase for this volume in to our ‘keys’ generic bins
which only loyal customers have access to. This means that when there are
shortages in the market – PSUK can supply for longer ensuring that you
can obtain the rank 1 product 96% of the time.
The other benefit that PSUK members gain from having access to Keys
‘bins’ is the stability and security of pricing. We can predict our members
generic volume and can purchase in advance meaning we can protect the
APM price from price increases in the market place where possible.
This benefits PSUK members, protecting their margin on those lines where
there are fluctuations in price in the market. Having access to Keys means
that you have better availability of generics at the best price for longer.

In fact – from Julys concessions – only six lines
were over tariff on APM – with the average usage
on these lines being just under one pack across

the membership.

We have also added the over tariff functionality on to our portal which gives
you more visibility of what you may be ordering that is over tariff and the
ability to have a warning when you have ordered something over tariff.
Concessions are not new – they are here to stay, but you can be assured as
a PSUK member that through APM and Keys the impact is minimal enabling
you to concentrate on other areas of the dispensary.
