Parallel Imports –

friend or potential foe!

I can remember when parallel imports (PIs) first hit the
pharmacy marketplace, with lots of branded products
having their prices seriously undercut by European imported
equivalents. As a pharmacy owner it was a golden egg moment,
even though it did involve unpackaging Amoxil capsules
supplied in packs of 2 to make up a course of 21!
Today, PIs can still offer a discount over UK prices. Sometimes this discount
can be significant but not always, however even though a PI offers just a
few pence advantage over UK list price don’t knock this benefit; count the
pennies and all that but I do have some words of warning. Read on please.
