‘any product that is ordered as a UK original that has a PI
equivalent at a higher discount will be sent to you by PHOENIX.’

Bingo! What this means is that you don’t need to scour the PI list wondering if you should
or shouldn’t order because a PI will be sent even when you order a UK product, if it saves
you money. Better than that, and not articulated here, is that if you choose a PI on the
ordering portal, your product selection is sense checked by PSUK before it is sent to you.
Why? Because sometimes the MDS on the UK brand is better than the PI discount price
and in this instance, you will be sent the UK product instead. The only thing you need to do,
is make sure that you are always signed up to ALL MDS schemes.
Here are some examples of products where the MDS makes the UK product the better
choice and your PI choice will be switched.

So what’s the issue I hear you call! Well, the problem is that the sense checking stops at
the point that you order a PI from elsewhere. Then it is down to you and do you know for
sure that all staff are checking before they order? I know for a fact that they are not.
