When you enter the VMP into the dm+d, you gain
access to a comprehensive list of all the products
that can be supplied if you receive a prescription
for this item, known as the AMP. This includes every
branded version and all manufacturers of generic
versions of the item. For instance, if you’re looking
at Nifedipine 30mg modified release tablets, you’ll
find four different options that a pharmacy can
provide, each representing a unique brand.
Additionally, when you select the AMP of a
product, you’ll be able to see the various pack
sizes available, known as the AMPP. For example,
with Adalat LA 30mg tablets, you can find them
in packs of 28 tablets, 2 strips of 14 tablets. This
feature helps ensure you have all the information
you need to make the best choice for your needs.
Other benefits of the dm+d
This resource is incredibly helpful for pharmacies,
providing essential information on whether
products are:
• Reimbursable,
• If broken bulk can be claimed,
• If the product is a special container or comes in
a calendar pack.
• Any prescription charges associated with an
item
• This ensures pharmacies have all the necessary
details to manage prescriptions effectively and
efficiently.
