Jody Harries, DDAM, North West.

I am in my sixth year of working for PSUK, I joined
in 2018. Prior to joining PSUK I was a dispensary
manager in a practice on Anglesey for four years.
Then in 2002 I qualified as a pharmacy technician,
working in the local general hospital for nine years.
From then I moved into a role with the Local Health Board
Medicines Management team for 3 years. Over the 14
years I’ve had various roles, but now I am the Dispensing
Doctor Account Manager covering North Wales,
Shropshire and the North West of England. I really enjoy
the consultation part of my role, supporting members to
overcome problems, fact finding, and problem solving.

One of the most popular questions I face
in my day-to-day role is ‘Are we claiming our
PA’s properly?’ ‘Are we doing it right?’
In my previous life as a dispensary manager
many years ago, this was always something
I was conscientious about. The truth is most
of you are getting reimbursed correctly,
however there is some confusion that I will
aim to clear up here. The confusion of
course centres around VAT, and the
‘PA Allowance’
