We also look at some of the answers to frequently
                 asked questions that we receive on NMS

                 •  NMS can be provided to patients in a care home as they have
                     the same entitlement to treatment as they would in their own
                     home. Remember the follow up can be undertaken by phone
                     if they cannot get to the pharmacy, this is unless they do not
                     have the mental capacity to do so.

                 •  The NMS interventions and follow ups must be done by a
                     pharmacist who has self declared they have the knowledge
                     and skills to do so, it cannot be completed by a pharmacy
                     Technician

                 •  A common question we receive is ‘can I claim for NMS
                     completion if the patient was recruited to the service but I
                     cannot contact them for the provision of the intervention?’
                     sorry but the answer is ’ NO ‘ If the intervention stage has been
                     completed but the patient is non contactable for the follow up
                     stage, this NMS can be claimed for.
                 •  Remember Patients consent must be obtained this can be
                     verbal as long as it is recorded on the clinical record service log.
