1. Pharmacy First service monthly caps – 1 October
Provisional date for changes to be effective 1 October.

Update to the Clinical Pathways – Additional ‘Gateway Points’ will
be added, where the claim for the service delivered can be made.
Updates to the PGDs and Protocols.
Bundling requirements – to receive the Pharmacy First service
monthly payment, pharmacies must deliver at least one Ambulatory
Blood Pressure monitoring within the month.
2. Hypertension Case Finding service – From October
The minimum requirement to trigger monthly Pharmacy First
payment will include one ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM)
consultation a month
3. New Medicines service (NMS) – From October
Provisional date for changes to be effective from 29 October.

Addition of antidepressants to the NMS - No mandatory training is
required - However the training module available at www.cppe.ac.uk/
programmes/l/mentheal-e-01/ is part of the 2025/26 PQS.
4. Pharmacy Contraception service (PCS) – From October
Provisional dates for changes to be effective from 29 October.

Update to the Service Specification and PGD to
enable Registered Technicians to offer the service.
Addition of Emergency Contraception (EC) - No mandatory
training required, with EC covered within the existing PCS training
recommendations. This change is subject to the introduction of
updated to IT Systems - Further details on this addition will be
published as soon as possible.
5. Flu vaccination service – From 1 October
st
Vaccination of all eligible groups can start under the 2025/26 Flu
Vaccination Service (pregnant women could be vaccinated from 1 st
September 2025).
6. Covid-19 vaccination service – From 1 October
st
Vaccination of all eligible groups can start under the autumn/winter
2025/26 COVID-19 Vaccination Service.
7. Advanced and Enhanced services from Distance

Selling Pharmacies (DSP) – From 1 October
DSPs will only be able to deliver Directed services (Advanced, National
Enhanced, and Enhanced services) remotely from the distance selling
premises, similar to their delivery of Essential services OR, if the
service specification permits, face-to-face with the patient, off-site.
8. NMS: Submission of electronicreporting template – From 1 October
st
Pharmacies can voluntarily submit their completed NMS electronic
reporting template to the NHSBSA for Q1.
