Quality domains

The 2025/26 scheme is structured around two
quality domains:

1. Medicines optimisation
Structured around four key clinical areas:
palliative and End of Life care, mental
health consultations, asthma management,
and emergency contraception.

With 30 points available under this domain
for most contractors, the potential earnings
range from £1,725 to £3,450, depending on
the final value per point.

2. Patient safety

Structured around three key areas:
antimicrobial stewardship, sepsis awareness
and regularising DBS checks.

With 20 points available under this domain
for most contractors, the potential earnings
range from £1,150 to £2,300, depending on
the final value per point.

To get paid for a domain, you’ll need to tick
off all the criteria within it – there’s no
partial payment for partial progress.
Each domain is built around clear
requirements that support best
practice, professional development,
and positive outcomes for
your patients.

Heads up – some training and
e-assessments might need doing again,
even if you've already completed them
before. That’s because certain modules have
expiry dates linked to this year’s scheme.
Make sure everyone on your team is up to date and
their e-learning won’t run out before March 2026.
