frontline healthcare services, transforming them from just medication

                           Infected insect bites

During the summer, patients might visit you for allergy medication, sun
care, and advice on treating infected insect bites, whether picked up at
                           home or abroad.

As part of the NHS Pharmacy First Service, treating infected insect Insect Bites
bites is one of the seven conditions you will support. Patients aged one
year and older (excluding pregnant individuals under 16) are eligible for
                           treatment through the clinical pathways.

Insect bites and stings often cause redness, pain, and swelling. However,
these symptoms don't always indicate an infection. Look for signs such
as hot skin, spreading redness and swelling, and pus discharge to identify
                           an infection.

To help you reach the thresholds for payment and to let your community
know that you can support them with conditions included in the service,
we have developed a range of downloadable resources and guidance.
