496  Keith JACKSON  (1945 - ) (Inducted 20.10.1980; left in 1984/85 but rejoined in 1989.)  Finance,
                                     Building  Societies.    Manager  of  the  Provincial  Building  Society  branch,
                                     Wolverhampton Street, Dudley from about 1978 until he was transferred
                                     to Yorkshire in 1985.  His home was in Wombourne.  He was born and
                                     raised  in Burnley,  Lancashire.   On  leaving the  local grammar  school  he
                                     joined the police, at first as a beat bobby and then a dog handler.  After a
                                     few years he moved to Crook, County Durham, from where he travelled
                                     widely,  particularly  into  Scotland,  as  a  salesman  of  commercial
                                     refrigeration equipment.  He then joined the investment division of the
                                     Trustee Savings Bank as an investment consultant, before moving to the
                  Provincial Building Society as a Trainee Manager in about 1976.  After a couple of years, he was
                  awarded his first branch, which was Dudley.  While there the society merged to become the
                  National & Provincial.  He moved early in 1985 on being posted to Dewsbury but in charge also
                  of the Batley branch.  In 1986 he became manager of the main N&P branch in Leeds city centre,
                  but after a year or so he was put in charge of the Harrogate branch (smaller but with much
                  wealthier clients!).  In 1988 he was transferred back to the Midlands as Manager of District
                  Branch Operations in charge of N&P's branches around Birmingham, the Black Country and into
                  Shropshire, and rejoined the Rotary club in July 1989 - see #532.  He was a most sociable and
                  humorous member and a keen caravanner.

            497  Thomas  (‘Tom’)  BYTHEWAY  (1929-     )  (Inducted  12.1.1981;  left  at
                  30.6.2012.)  Automobile Industry, Tyre Distributing.  He was a tyre factor
                  operating from his various home addresses: at Woodsetton from the early
                  1960s, then View Drive, Dudley from the late 1960s, and at Moor Hall,
                  Sutton Coldfield from 1984.  He traded as Tom Bytheway (Tyres) Limited
                  from 1973, and had retail premises on Chester Road, Erdington from 1975
                  until winding up the business in 1991.  He almost never attended the club
                  after  moving  to  Sutton  Coldfield  but  remained  a  member,  excused
                  attendance.  He was a keen golfer and leading member of Moor Hall Golf
                  Club, Sutton Coldfield.  In 2013 he moved to an apartment in Eastbourne, just a short stroll from
                  the sea front.

            498  Reginald  John  BENT  (John  Bent  junior)  (1940-1987)  (Inducted  25.1.1982;  left  in  Nov.1982.)
                  Plumbing.  He followed his father (member #447) into the business of John Bent (Heating &
                  Plumbing) Ltd at Waterloo Street, Dudley and would have taken it over had he not died at the
                  young age of 47.  He lived in Barnett Lane, Kingswinford.

            499  Alexander  (‘Sandy’)  GIBSON  (1934-2019)  (Inducted  10.5.1982;  left  3  months  later  on  being
                  posted to Malvern but immediately joined the local Rotary Club and was a member until his
                  death.)  Banking (Commercial).  He was a manager at Barclays Bank, High Street, Dudley under
                  branch manager Eric Davies (club member #464) from 1980 until being promoted to Manager
                  of the Great Malvern branch in October 1982.  He held that post until retiring in 1992.  He went
                  to school in Sheffield and joined Barclays at the age of 16.  He held a variety of positions at
                  numerous branches, including being manager of the Birmingham Five Ways branch in his 30s,
                  before coming to Dudley, but lived at Solihull from the late 1960s until his move to Malvern.  He
                  was  an  active  member  of  the  Rotary  Club  of  Malvern  since  arriving  in  the  town:  President
                  1991/92 and 2017/18, Paul Harris Fellow, and organiser of many fundraising events including
                  the annual Tree of Light and the Malvern Pancake Race.

            500  Roger Sidney GIDDINGS (1942-  ) (Inducted 10.5.1982; left early 1983.)  Building construction.
                  A  chartered  civil  engineer  he  was  with  William  Moss  (Construction)  Ltd  of  Perry  Barr,
                  Birmingham, perhaps as a local director because this was part of a larger group.  Roger never
