PLOT DEVELOPERS USE LOCATIONAL ADVANTAGES IN BÜLACH
In addition to the airport, interesting development areas are being created. In conversation with Mayor Mark Eberli and business promoter René Götz
The city of Bülach is on the move. With the completion of the investors Allreal and Credit Suisse's GUSS com- plex, the first half of the 100,000-square-meter-large building complex Bülach Nord has been completed. The ground-breaking for the Steiner AG, Logis Suisse and Baugenossenschaft Glattal's Glasi complex is just across the way. Thus, promising social and economic development continues in the city of Bülach.
In Bülach Nord, where heavy industry once produced goods, new residential, commercial and industrial areas are being built. A new home for people, startups and big companies.
The living and working spaces in Bülach Nord are diverse. The plots can be designed and are, above all, directly next to the train station and the motorway feeder Bülach Nord (10 minutes from the airport).
Quickly accessible and agile co-working spaces for start- ups in the Bülach GUSS and 10,000 square meters of co-designed commercial and/or industrial space in the commercial building A (left building, Glasi-Areal) as well as new forms of living and public space in the heart of the new neighborhoods, form the breeding ground for a promising and sustainable urban development.
"The development of the two areas in Bülach North has given great impetus to urban development and left be- hind the closure of the heavy industries in recent years," says Mark Eberli, mayor of Bülach.
Bülach, the northern gateway to the Zurich
economic area
The closure of the industrial production facilities brought the Bülach business location into a difficult starting position before the millennium. René Götz, mandate manager for business development in the city of Bülach and a partner of strategy consultant Hanser Consulting AG, also sees such developments as opportunities to take new direc- tions: "We see potential for Bülach in the areas of life sci- ence, mechanical and metal engineering, ICT and logis- tics. For new settlements and/or expansions of existing companies, there are interesting development areas in Bülach South and North. Investors take the opportunity. For example, CS is investing in the expansion and devel- opment of the Bülach logistics zone."
Lighthouses characterize the business location Bülach
The Bülach economic area is already shaped by the divi- sions of major companies in the life science and manufac- turing industries. These include, in particular, Biotronik AG, Landert Group AG, Vetropack Holding AG, mageba sa and
