SOCIAL ACTION

The Social Action Committee understood the assignment and answered the Call to Action for Florida’s 20th Congressional District special elections. By joining forces with the Florida Mobilization Project (FVMP), Broward County Alumnae Chapter impacted voter participation by adopting precinct #L016, the Saint George Community Center (also known as Parkway). Sorors spent several hours canvassing the adopted precinct neighborhood, talking to residents and hanging door tags with the voting site and date information.
The committee also participated in a phone banking campaign, contacting more than 500 Broward County residents. The election cycle rounded out with a robust social media campaign filled with pictures of sorors in action at voting sites and with their “I voted” stickers and paraphernalia. The Social Action Committee plans for a busy 2022 election year and looks forward to the ongoing BCAC
support and engagement.
