Chapter History
In February 1997 in Lewisville, Texas two provisional charter groups based in Denton and
Lewisville, Texas first met. The group of 18 mothers agreed to merge as one provisional group.
The group collectively represented the communities of Denton, Highland Village, Lake Dallas,
Lewisville, Corinth and Coppell. From the very beginning, a warm spirit of cooperation existed
between the mothers as they agreed to share meeting sites within the communities. The mothers
adopted a theme for their provisional group, “It takes a Village.”
