Angelia – Italy
For Angelia, enrolling in Adhiyogi’s 200-hour Teacher Training was more than just a step toward becoming a yoga instructor — it was an immersion into a world where philosophy, culture, and practice merged into one profound experience.
Her journey with Adhiyogi began in Italy, where she attended a few of his group classes. Those early sessions left a deep impression on her, sparking a desire to go further. That desire led her all the way to Mysuru, India, to train directly under him. There, she stayed in a room right next to Adhiyogi’s, sharing the space with two other Italian girls and one student from Uruguay. For a full month, they learned, practiced, laughed, and shared meals — their small community becoming a source of joy and support that made the experience even richer.
The training itself opened a doorway into the depths of Indian philosophy, not merely introducing yoga’s physical aspects but connecting it to the broader wisdom and richness of Indian culture. Adhiyogi’s explanations were both clear and deeply insightful, reflecting a mastery that could illuminate even the most intricate concepts.
When it came to teaching yoga, Angelia encountered a method unlike anything she had seen before. She learned that every student must be approached as an individual — analyzed with precision and empathy. This was not a one-size-fits-all style; it was a practice of understanding unique needs, anticipating challenges, and creating tailored approaches. It sharpened her observational skills, expanded her attention span, and gave her tools to work effectively with students who required special considerations.
Adhiyogi’s training balanced philosophy and physical practice seamlessly. He showed that yoga was not merely a form of fitness or body care, but a discipline that unites the body and mind. Each asana was a study in detail — the alignment, the breath, the mental focus — all interwoven into a coordinated whole. Angelia began to see yoga not as an isolated activity, but as a way of living and teaching that could transform both her own life and that of her students.
The course was not only an enrichment of her cultural knowledge but also a personal awakening. It taught her that the true role of a yoga teacher is not just to demonstrate poses, but to guide others toward focus, balance, and inner awareness. With this foundation, Angelia now walks her path with renewed purpose, confident that she is equipped to share yoga in its original and transformative form.
OM Shantiḥ.
