Vanessa Bodley, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
When Vanessa Bodley traveled from Madison, Wisconsin to Pune, India to complete her teacher training with Adhiyogi, she found herself immersed in a transformative journey.
Adhiyogi’s teaching style, deeply authentic and tailored to the individual’s needs and abilities, allowed Vanessa’s own practice to progress in ways she had never imagined. Through his innovative use of the surroundings, his clear concepts, and his step-by-step building of each posture, Vanessa not only refined her physical skills but also deepened her understanding of yoga’s inner dimensions.
The immersion in Indian culture added layers of richness to the experience. Vanessa met Sanskrit and Vedic scholars whose insights expanded her grasp of yoga philosophy, connecting ancient wisdom to her modern-day practice. She realized that yoga was far more than a series of postures — it was a lifelong discipline requiring patience, dedication, and self-awareness.
With Adhiyogi’s guidance, Vanessa gained the confidence to share her knowledge with others and the inspiration to keep exploring her own yoga path. She left India deeply grateful for this life-altering experience and for the genuine teacher who had made it possible.
OM Shantiḥ.
