Dr. Anurita Mishra – Senior Yoga Teacher, Mumbai, India
The path to learn Yoga is riddled with inaccurate information and flashy gimmicks promising weight loss or instant spirituality through superficial yogic practice. Therefore, it becomes necessary to learn Yoga from a reliable source — someone who not only knows and teaches what Yoga truly is, but also, what it is not. Adhiyogi is such a rare, reliable source.
Dr. Anurita first met Adhiyogi during her doctoral studies, when she became his Yoga Sutra student. Those early sessions sparked in her a deep respect for his knowledge and his ability to present the most ancient concepts with crystal clarity. After completing her doctorate, she felt compelled to go further — not just to understand Yoga philosophically, but to embody it in her teaching. With that aim, she joined his Teacher Training in Pune.
The training, however, was not easy. Adhiyogi was quite harsh with her at times — demanding precision, discipline, and an uncompromising focus on her growth. At first, it was difficult for her to adjust to this intensity. But with time, she began to see the transformation: the strictness was a form of care, a deliberate method to push her beyond her comfort zone. It forged in her a stronger sense of discipline, resilience, and above all, confidence.
With his 40 years of Yoga teaching experience and an impeccable background in diverse forms of Yoga practice, Adhiyogi systematically molded her into a teacher. He made her unlearn any incorrect habits, break free from preconceived notions, and discard myths that cloud the essence of Yoga. He gave extraordinary attention to minute details that most would overlook, allowing her to gain a deeper and broader understanding of each practice.
Ultimately, this rigorous training became the foundation for her success. Dr. Anurita went on to teach in Africa, where she became a highly popular Yoga teacher. Her classes, infused with the discipline and authenticity she learned from Adhiyogi, quickly gained a devoted following. Today, she is thriving — deeply satisfied with her work, and grateful for the uncompromising guidance that shaped her.
“I am fortunate to be a student of SaeeTech, The Authentic Yoga School, and a disciple of Adhiyogi,” she says. “The time I spent there, and everything I learned under his tutelage, will be something I will forever cherish and remember.”
OM Shantiḥ.
