Gananjay Dhayagude – Sanskrit Scholar, Vedic Student, Pune
Gananjay comes from one of the rarest families in the world — a lineage that has preserved the art and science of Vedic Chanting in its most authentic form. Their chanting is not merely melodic; it follows precise intonations, timings, and breath controls refined over generations.
When Adhiyogi first approached the family to learn this scientific chanting, they graciously agreed — and it was Gananjay himself who became his teacher in this sacred tradition.
During these classes, Adhiyogi noticed something remarkable: Gananjay and his students were not just Vedic scholars, but they were also practicing yoga regularly, with sincerity and dedication. This rare blend of Sanskrit mastery and physical discipline immediately struck Adhiyogi as the perfect foundation for becoming a great yoga teacher.
Seeing this potential, Adhiyogi suggested would change the course of Gananjay’s life — to take the Adhiyoga Teacher Training. As a gesture of encouragement and respect for his background, Adhiyogi offered to train him free of cost.
Gananjay seized the opportunity without hesitation. Over the months of training, he learned not only advanced yoga techniques but also how to bring a perfect balance between mind and body, integrating his Sanskrit heritage with the practical, methodical approach of Adhiyoga. Adhiyogi was meticulous in ensuring that Gananjay’s classes were accurate, systematic, and beneficial to every student, always connecting the timeless wisdom of the Vedas with the needs of modern practitioners.
Gananjay also developed a deep appreciation for Adhiyogi’s book Adhiyoga – The Authentic Yoga System, which he calls “a great integration of the Classical Yoga rooted in Vedic life and the insights of modern science.”
When Gananjay graduated, Adhiyogi proudly wrote on his certificate:
“Gananjay is the first Sanskrit Scholar to take Adhiyoga Teacher Training.”
Today, Gananjay carries forward this unique fusion — teaching yoga with a grounding in Vedic wisdom — and continues to honor both his lineage and his guru with every class he conducts.
OM Shantiḥ.
