Sherry's Journey to Strength and Stillness with Adhiyogi
Sherry, a vibrant and energetic woman from Northern Virginia, had long committed herself to a physically active lifestyle. With a weekly routine filled with running, spinning, and Pilates, her body was often pushed to its limits. It was this intensity that initially brought her to the doors of Authentic Yoga School, founded and led by the insightful teacher, Adhiyogi.
She began by attending just one class a week—hoping to “undo” the accumulated strain she placed on her body. But what started as a physical remedy soon became much more. In just a few short months, Sherry discovered that this weekly yoga class was unlike anything else in her schedule. It was not only a chance to stretch her muscles and correct imbalances, but also an unexpected source of inner peace and deep contentment. She found herself genuinely looking forward to each session.
Adhiyogi’s teaching style—warm, personal, and deeply rooted in tradition—resonated with Sherry. His ability to cultivate not just physical wellness, but also a spiritual calm, created a uniquely enriching environment. The students in his classes, always kind and connected, completed the experience for her.
Encouraged by the progress she saw and felt, Sherry decided to take some personal training sessions with Adhiyogi at the end of the year. These sessions proved transformative. She began a dedicated home practice, which she maintained three to five times a week. Within weeks, those closest to her—her husband and colleagues—noted a dramatic improvement in her posture. For someone who had struggled with scoliosis, this was no small feat. Her back pain lessened, her spine straightened, and her overall alignment improved. What once seemed like structural limitations began to shift.
Beyond the physical healing, Sherry also gained something equally meaningful: a community. At Authentic Yoga School, she found not only guidance and discipline but also genuine friendships.
As Sherry’s story shows, under Adhiyogi’s wise mentorship, yoga became more than a supplement to her fitness regimen—it became a path to healing, empowerment, and wholeness.
