From Yogasūtras of Patañjali:
तज्जयात्प्रज्ञाल कोः॥३.५॥ तस्य भूवमष विवनय गोः॥३.६॥
Patanjali Yogasutra 3.5: From the mastery of Sanyama, higher consciousness (prajnaloka) emerges.
Patanjali Yogasutra 3.6: Sanyama (Dharana plus Dhyana plus Samadhi) and Prajna ( special intuitive intelligence resulting from the mastery of Sanyama) should be utilized for
higher states of Samadhi (and not for enjoying the material benefits thereof).
ततोः प्रावतभश्रािणिेदनादशाथस्वादिाताथ जायन्ते॥३.३६॥
