 sūtra 1.2. īśvara: sarvajña: sarvaśaktimānsarvatrasarvadopasthita:।
Īśvara (Supreme Owner of the Universe) is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent.
Let us now see how Īśvara has these three supreme qualities. Before this, a reader is advised to read the prologue to this book to get the definition of and the argument about Īśvara’s existence.
If Īśvara is the one who owns this universe and makes all the rules that govern each and everything in the universe, it follows that Īśvara knows everything.
One may think of Īśvara as the creator of the entire universe including all the rules that are binding the universe. But the nature of such process of creation is obviously beyond the human intellect or even imagination. Because the universe and the processes involved in the universe are so vast that they are beyond human intellect. So, leaving aside how or whether a creation was made, the fact is that Īśvara is the owner and binds the universe in rules.
