यमवनयमासनप्राणायामप्रत्याहारधारणाध्यानसमाधय ऽष्टािङ्गावन॥२.२९॥
There are eight limbs of Yoga: Yama (regulations), Niyama (observances), āsana (sitting posture), prāṇāyāma (breath control), pratyāhāra (withdrawal of senses), dhāraṇā (concentration of mind), dhyāna (meditation), and samādhi (perfect concentration of mind).
देशबन्धवित्तस्य धारणा॥३.१॥
Patanjali Yoga Sutra 3.1: Deśabandhaścittasya dhāraṇā|
dhāraṇā (Focus) is fixing citta in a particular space.
