वितकथ विचारानन्दाद्धितारूपानगमात्सम्प्रज्ञातोः॥१.१७॥
Patanjali Yoga Sutra 1.17: Vitarkavicārānandāsmitārūpānugamātsamprajñātaḥ|
Samprajñāta Samādhi takes place through the concentration (saṁyama) on gross form, thought form, blissful form, or pure ego form.
Sa-Vitarka includes all the four forms of Samādhi, Sa-Vichāra includes three forms i.e. excluding S-Vitarka. Sa-Aānanda includes two i.e. excluding S-Vitarka and S-Vichāra. Whereas Sa-Asmitā includes only single object that is Asmitā (Vyāsabhāshya). Only after progressing beyond Sa-Asmitā Samādhi, Asamprajñāta Samādhi is obtained. The highest form of the Asamprajñāta Samādhi is Kaivalya (Vyāsabhāshya). Let us recall the Sūtras stating the progression beyond Sa-Asmitā Samādhi.
