PREFACE
All praise and gratitude are due to Allah SWT, whose blessings and guidance have
enabled the writer to complete this English learning module. This module is designed as a
comprehensive reference for university students to strengthen their understanding of English
grammar and structure, which form the foundation for effective communication and academic
writing.
The materials presented in this module cover key grammatical components, including
Overview of Tenses, Future Time (Simple Future and Be Going To), Subject-Verb
Agreement, Part of Speech, Modals (Type 1, 2, and 3), Passive Voice, Clauses and
Phrases (Noun, Adverb, and Adjective), Reduction of Clauses to Modifying Phrases
(Adverbial, Noun, and Adjective), Gerund (Definition, Types, and Examples), To-
Infinitive (Type 1 and 2), Linking Words, Conditional Sentences (Type 0, 1, 2, and 3),
and Wishes.
Each topic is systematically organized to guide students from theoretical
understanding to practical application. The explanations are supported with examples,
exercises, and contextual usage to promote both accuracy and fluency in English. This
module is also intended to assist lecturers in facilitating engaging and student-centered
learning activities in grammar-based courses.
It is hoped that this module will serve as a helpful resource for students in developing
their grammatical competence, analytical thinking, and confidence in using English both in
academic and professional settings.
The writer realizes that this module is still open for improvement. Therefore,
