The first step to take if you are noticing you are getting bullied is to remove yourself as the victim. By confronting them, making smart remarks back at them. If they say something back make sure that you don’t give them the reaction they are looking for. After you dodge the bullet, your next order of business is to shift the focus back on to your attacker by exposing their intentions. The bully might say “You’re always so defensive.” instead of saying “no, I’m not” say “Were you trying to be funny just then? I wasn’t sure...” or “Why are you trying so hard to point that out?
