Even if you are confronted by fear, you should not ignore parts of your life just to try and remain safe from harm. This is due to the fact that it is possible to find wellbeing in purpose and relationships even while working on your safety. One can even get over their fears by:
~Facing their fears- Exposing yourself to your fears/phobias is a constructive way of conquering or at least managing your fears and anxiety. Also, the most efficient way to overcome a phobia/fear is to cautiously and continuously expose yourself towhatyoufearinanotonlyinasafewaybutaswellasa controlled way. During this exposure process, you’ll learn to realize that before you can overcome your fears/phobias you have to first ride out the anxiety and fear that you feel or experience because of something or someone until it naturally goes away. By going through continuous encounters facing your fear, you’ll realize and understand that the worst will not happen to you; you’re not going to die or lose control of your emotions and have an outburst. With each encounter, you’ll begin to feel more confident, assured, and in control of your ability to be able to face your fears/phobias and eventually overcome them since the brain adjusts how it responds and the phobia is overcome.
~Know yourself- By learning more about your fears/phobias you can try to set small, achievable goals for facing and overcoming your fears. You could try to do this by keeping an anxiety diary or thought record with you to jot down when and what happens to you when you come face to face with your fears/phobias. You could even try carrying with you a list of things that help at times when you are likely to become frightened or anxious to help and calm you down whenever you feel as though this fear is going to take control of something that you do or say.
~Exercise- Increase the amount of exercise you do because doing this you can take your mind off your fear and anxiety. ~Relax- By learning relaxation techniques you can gain the ability to be able to cope with your physical and mental feelings of fear. Some relaxation techniques that you could try learning and use are yoga, meditation, and massage.
~Healthy eating- You should try to eat lots of fruit and vegetables, and try to avoid too much sugar because dips in your blood sugar can give you anxious feelings. You should also try to avoid drinking too much tea and coffee because caffeine can increase anxiety levels.
~Avoid alcohol or drink in moderation- You should try to avoid alcohol or at least try to drink in moderation, this is because alcohol can make you feel even more afraid or anxious than you already are when experiencing fear. ~Complementary therapies- By doing complementary therapies or exercises, such as relaxation techniques,
