In brief, a physical environment for infants or toddlers should be designed clearly and meet the development of the children. This physical environment is not only just an activities area, it also a place where infants and toddlers grow and spend many hours of their early life. Thus there must be spaces for resting or sleeping, eating, personal grooming and toileting, moving, reflection, socialising, and doing activities. It is also important to remember that the physical environment for infants and toddlers affects adultsÊ as well as childrenÊs behaviour.
