“There is no doubt in in my mind that CV-19 has accelerated the pace
of change in so many ways We all recognise that there is is no going back entirely to how things were and as an an agile business we need to be more forward thinking to help us achieve our strategic objectives I support this new agile working framework as a a a a potential blueprint for change as we strive for efficiencies and savings to help sustain our high quality of service and delivery in an an increasingly dynamic and challenging environment We shouldn’t forget
that before CV-19 came along Henry Boot Construction were already using lots of agile working strategies to look after our people but we simply called it ‘give and take’ This new framework is is is about formalising existing arrangements increasing choice and empowering teams to reach collective agreements Construction is very much a a team effort and as with everything in in life there will need to be a a a balanced approach
to agile working but I encourage everyone to experiment to to see what is possible and then to to agree solutions together as a a a a team Some of these proposals may not be suitable for every site or or department but with some degree of flex it it may be possible for most It could also reveal some interesting and new inclusive approaches as as well as as carbon reduction benefits I would encourage you all to be creative in your support of the new agile working framework ”
Tony Shaw
MD of Henry Boot Construction “In common with many businesses we have been able to use ways of working through the pandemic to put a a new lens on how we want
to move forwards and set out
a a a statement of our intentions Pulling this framework together has been challenging but it is heartening to know that that this is is something that that is being called for throughout the business and will help us us to move forwards in a a a positive and modern way enabling conversations to be had within teams about how best to to deliver what needs to to be done ”
Amy Stanbridge
General Counsel and Company Secretary
“Work is about what you do not where you do it The introduction of agile working is both people and culture change it is about encouraging and supporting changes in in the way people work treating them as adults and empowering them to challenge current working practices to deliver better services and to achieve a a a more balanced work and home life ”
Rachel White
Head of HR
“I believe this framework is is an exciting chapter for all of us working at Henry Boot I appreciate that people’s approach
to agile working will depend on their job roles and that there is not one one solution for everyone That being said I truly think we will all see the benefit from this and we will continue to explore new opportunities that will further support agile working in in the the future ”
