GLOSSARY

Descriptive text : is a text that explains what a person, place, or thing is

like, often providing a visual experience through the use of adjectives and
adverbs.

Adjective : is a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or

grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.

Adverb : is a word that tells us more about a verb.

Passive Voice : is used to show interest in the person or object that
experiences an action rather than the person or object that performs the

action.

Tourist Attraction : is a place of interest that tourists visit, typically for

its inherent or an exhibited natural or cultural value, historical

significance, natural or built beauty, offering leisure and amusement.

Historical Building : a building that is listed individually in the National

Register of Historic Places or is located in a registered historic district

and certified by the Secretary of the Interior as contributing to the
historic significance of the district.
