On demand self service is the biggest differentiator between

cloud and a legacy data centre. Instead of an operations team

receiving a request and working together (or not) to fulfil the

request to create configuration, the cloud must offer

automated configuration in response to a request from a self

service portal. This requires software capable configuration

both to deploy and to terminate deployments and return

resource back to the pool (Elasticity).
