But that is the Simple Part

As services scale or move in line with workload optimisation or

availability, the communications must be kept synchronised.

This often calls for some sort of middleware, for example an

Enterprise Service Bus. There may also be a need for some

sort of message broker and if the application is built on a

Legacy back end such as a mainframe then there may be a

need for some translation service.
