Structured vs Unstructured

Structured Data is stored with filtered retrieval in mind. The

data is organised with lookup keys.

e.g. Relational Database

Retrieval is planned at creation time

Unstructured Data is gathered as part of Processing. No

specific retrieval is pre-planned

e.g. File System Whole file

must be read by Application.
