Public Cloud
Definition:
Any cloud service that is made available via the
Internet to the general public or a large industry group
and is owned by an organization selling or providing
cloud services. The public cloud is therefore a subset
of the hosted services market.
Uses:
Typically runs non mission-critical applications like
web servers, file servers, testing & development and
collaboration tools like Email, Chat, intranet, extranet.

Salesforce.com, Google Apps, Amazon and Cisco
