External Lifecycle Actions available for VM based services
▪ External Lifecycle Action scripts are run from an isolated container on the Docker Service Server
▪ Script locations can be a relative path on any Repository, full URL path, a relative path inside a bundle
zip file for the external actions scripts or Linux commands for the command line.
▪ Like Agent Action Bundles External Action Bundles must be named serviceID.zip. Example Service ID
of SQL then bundle of SQL.zip.
▪ External Server Bundles are downloaded to a container on the Docker Server not the node (VM)

Run prior to launching the VM

Run after the VM is launched but prior to any VM
or service initialization
Run after the VM, service and app configuration is complete

Run prior to terminating the VM when the app is terminated

Run after terminating the VM as part of the app termination
