Functions and Responsibilities
1.University Research and Development, Extension and Training Council
(URDET) Council
In addition to the Academic and Administrative Councils of the
University, the University RDET Council is created to serve as the policy-
determining body and clearing house of the University as far as research and
development and extension and trainings are concerned.
The functions of the Council are as follows:
2.1.1. To assist the President/VP for RDET in the formulation of University
policies, rules and regulations relative to knowledge and technology
generation, R&DE results utilization, policy research and advocacy, and R&DE
governance and accountability;
2.1.2 To provide advice to the University Directors of R&D/E in the
formulation of the University R&D/E framework, programs/plans and
projects;
3. To assess, screen, monitor, and evaluate all proposals, on-going and
completed R&DE programs and projects in the University, including
undergraduate and graduate thesis/research problems;
4. Monitor and Evaluate (M&E) University RDET programs and activities;
and
5. Performs other functions as may be directed by the President. The University
RDET Council is composed of the following:
a. University President as Chair;
b. University Vice President for RDET as Vice Chair;
c. University Vice President for Academic and Related Affairs, Member;
d. University Vice President for Finance and Business Affairs, Member;
e. University Vice President for Planning and Development, Member;
f. Cluster Executive Officers, Member;
g. Campus Administrators, Member; and
h. University Commodity Team Leaders, Member;
