Functions and Responsibilities
The following sections shall be directly under the VP-RDET:
• Research and Development
• Extension and Training
• Knowledge and Technology Management
3. University Director for Extension
The University Director for Extension extends full assistance to the VP for RDET
in the direct management and supervision of the University Extension and Training
(E&T) programs. Like the University Director for R&D, he/she assumes the duties and
responsibilities of the VP for RDET in his absence. Other specific duties of the University
Director for Extension are as follows:
• Directly plans, directs and supervises the extension program/ activities of the
University and coordinate field operations of the campuses;
• Establishes linkages and collaborate with other units, governments agencies as
well as private institutions for the advancement of the extension program of the
University;
• Locates sources of funds and utilize the same for approved extension activities;
• Introduces innovative modalities/approaches/strategies in extension;
• Submits periodic reports on the impact of extension work on the quality
of life in the service area;
• Renders periodic report to the VP for RDET;
• Performs other functions as may be assigned by the higher authorities.
4. Campus Extension Director (CED)
In the case of Echague Campus, which is the seat of the University, the University
Extension Director holds dual functions, hence, he/she is also the Campus Extension
Director. In other big campuses like Cabagan, Ilagan and Cauayan, they have
Campus Extension Director who reports directly to the Campus Executive Officer. He is
directly responsible to the day-to-day management and supervision of the Extension and
Training (E&T) programs of the campus where he/she belongs.
