Chapter 1

       10 Reasons We LOVE Phoenix

       1. It’s proximity to everything in the Southwest. We can nothing like sitting out on the grass on a perfect spring
be in San Diego in 6 hours. Vegas in 5. On the beach in day & watching baseball.
Mexico in 3.5 hours! Oh, and don’t forget Sedona or
Flagstaff in only 2 hours!                                7. The newness- Again, depending on what area of the
country you are from, you might be used to old things.

       2. The weather. This one goes without saying. Yes, it’s hot Like old building, old roads, old everything. Not here.
4 months out of the year. THE OTHER 8 MONTHS ARE Phoenix is a relatevily new city, and most of what you find
WONDERFUL! It’s literally day after day of sunshine in the outskirting areas is new. There’s even new buildings
in the cool months. Everyday is the “perfect day” to get downtown!
       outside!
                                                                 8. The economy- Phoenix has always been a little ahead
       3. No natural disasters. No earthquakes, no major floods, of the bell curve when it comes to our economy. With the
no tornados. We have it pretty good here in AZ when it exception of the real estate market crash in 06, Phoenix
comes to sevear weather. Sunshine is literally our biggest has held up a robust economy lead by tech and the real
       problem!                                                  estate industry.

       4. Straight roads. Depending on which part of the 9. It’s a melting pot. One of the cool things about Phoenix
country you are from, you might be used to roads that is that everybody here is from someplace else. So
seem to swerve all over the place laden with potholes. Not transplants feel right at home. It’s interesting to hear

here in Phoenix. The early designers did it right on this stories from people from all over the United States.
one. Phoenix is laid out in an almost perfect grid system.
(See page 7)                                              10. The “newness” of everything- Phoenix is a relatively
newer city compared with other cities on the east and
       5. The Sunsets- There’s nothing like a bright orange west coast. You will see a lot of new buildings, newer
Arizona sunset. Beautiful. houses, newer roads and newer everything. This is
especially easy to appreciate if you come from an older
       6. Spring Training- Skipping work and going to a Spring city like Boston, New York or even LA.
Training game is tradition around these parts. There’s
