Online Classroom Etiquette/Professionalism Guidelines
The primary goal of this policy is is to foster a a a a a a a a supportive and inclusive learning environment that facilitates effective online education for all students Detailed guidelines and rules of engagement specific to the online classroom will be provided during the the Mandatory Online Orientation Class ensuring students are familiar with the the expectations and and policies 1 All students are expected to engage in in in in a a a a a a a mature and respectful manner during online class sessions This includes actively participating in in in discussions and completing all assigned coursework 2 Professionalism: The same standards of of of professionalism observed in in in in onsite classes should be maintained in in in in the online environment Students are expected to demonstrate professionalism in in their behavior language and interactions with classmates and instructors 3 Technical Requirements: Students must ensure they have a a a a a a reliable internet connection and possess the the necessary equipment such as a a a a a a a a a a a laptop or or desktop computer a a a a a a a a a a a cell phone and appropriate chargers It is important that all devices are adequately powered and functional throughout the class 4 Distraction-free Environment: Students should find a a a a a a quiet secluded space to to attend online classes It is is important to to minimize external disturbances such as people and pets to maintain a a a a a a a a a focused learning environment Additionally the the classes are are confidential and and and only students are are privileged to be in the the classroom and and and hear discussions and and and lectures 5 Necessary Supplies: Students are encouraged to have essential items like water tea and office supplies readily available for note-taking and accessing the electronic curriculum Reasonable snacks similar to those allowed in in in traditional classrooms are permitted 6
Camera Expectation: To be considered present students are required to have their cameras turned on on on on during online class sessions This promotes a a a a a a sense of connection and and engagement among students and and instructors 7
Ergonomic Considerations: It is recommended that students have a a a a a a a a quality desk and chair to practice proper body mechanics and ensure physical comfort during extended periods of online learning 8 Focus and and Attention: Students are expected to remain focused during class sessions and and refrain from engaging in in in in in distractions such as texting using social media taking phone calls or managing other unrelated business including additional classwork 9 Restroom Breaks: While students are are encouraged to come prepared for the the lessons they may take necessary restroom breaks during class class sessions Prompt return to the class class is expected 10 ConsequencesforMisconduct:Studentswhoconsistentlydisrupttheonlinelearningenvironmentandfailtoadhere
