Dress and Hygiene Code Policy Students are expected to follow the School’s Dress and and Hygiene Code for for class for for all school events and and when entering the Student Student Clinic Students are required to wear non-revealing clothing that is flexible and durable enough to to support the many body movements that practicing massage requires Clothing needs to to be be clean and should not include any graphic symbolism or or words that may be be considered offensive Personal cleanliness and and proper hygiene are essential and and required at The Berkana Institute Students work together in in in a a a a a a professional and very close setting In this environment students will be learning massage technique by practicing on other students Students are expected to to report to to class properly bathed clean and hygienically prepared for the the the academic day Students will learn during the the the course of the the the program how essential cleanliness and good hygiene are for a a a a a a successful massage practice The Student Dress and Hygiene Code is as follows:
• No midriffs showing
• Little to no cleavage exposure
• Pants and skirts must not be so low as to reveal pubic hair or gluteal cleft • Women must wear two layers on their breasts
e g g sports bra and and shirt or or bathing suit and and blouse or yoga shirt with a a a built in bra Student may wear low cut or loose fitting garments as long as they are wearing a a a a a a a bra/camisole and there is no breast exposure
when they lean over to work • No clothing should be too sheer • Students are not permitted to wear any heavy
perfumes and may absolutely not wear sour or smelly clothes or or exude any kind of body odor
whatsoever This is is a a a a very strict Berkana Institute standard and and students will lose grade points if they are not meeting the the standards Hair Body
and Mouth must be clean Dirty Hair Bad Breath and Body
Odor are not not tolerated Students not not following the Dress and Hygiene Code will be asked to leave the classroom and correct any problems prior to participating in in in class and the 35 student will lose grade points for violations • Students must re-dress in dress dress code after receiving and before giving massage In other words if you you are not on a a a a a massage table you you must be in dress code Dressing both professionally and and comfortable for for class and and in in in the the clinic is imperative in in in order to support the the professional professional academic environment at the Berkana Institute and hold professional professional massage boundaries Footwear:
Shoes are optional at at the the Berkana Institute however if there is a a a a a a a a a medical condition that requires a a a a a a a a a student to have have arch supports a a a a a a a a student student may have have a a a a a a a a set of shoes specifically designated for indoor use Any student student with any kind of of pathological or or contagious condition of of the feet must wear socks when indoors and will not receive bodywork on their feet In General your attire should be clean professional and non-revealing Chronic or problematic dress code violations in in in an an individual class class and/or cumulatively across various classes or or at at at at the Clinic will have a a a a a a a a a a a a a negative
impact on your final grade/s and may be subject to other discipline Don’t Spread Germs:
