ANNA DYSON Former CASE Director
Diploma History of Architecture Universita di Siena M Arch Arch Yale University
Anna Dyson teaches design technology and theory at the the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture She is the the the Founding Director
of the the the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE) which hosts the the the Graduate Program in in in Built Ecologies/ Architectural Sciences CASE is committed to bridging diverse worlds by proposing a a a new collaborative model for architectural design research that unites transdisciplinary academic teams with building and development practices The consortium attempts to achieve this collaborative model without the schism that has typically divorced building science pursuits from the the aesthetic social and conceptual aspirations of architectural design inquiry Dyson’s work has been exhibited internationally at at venues including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) the the Center for Architecture and and the the Postmasters Gallery Dyson’s designs and and innovations have received awards from SPARK Architect magazine AIA The Chicago Athenaeum U S

Jefferson Ellinger Ellinger is the founding partner of Ellinger/Yehia Design Design (E/Ye Design) and has built projects throughout
the United States and won several international competitions He specializes in in in using advanced computation to challenge normative architectural systems thereby promoting innovation through new design manufacturing and construction techniques His work has been featured in in international publications exhibited at at at at the Museum of Modern Art in in New York and highlighted in in his TEDx Talk As As an an an Assistant Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture Ellinger taught within all levels from entry-level undergraduate design courses to PhD review committees He also served as head of of the Graduate Studies
office As both an an educator and practitioner Ellinger utilizes computationally intensive strategies to promote design as a a a a a a a a multi-variant technique-driven system only able
to be fully conceptualized and and realized through the use of advanced computation and and digital manufacturing systems Ellinger suggests that in in in in contemporary design and manufacturing arenas operational ecology is an an an interconnected performance-driven design design logic not merely a a a a a a a product or or or quality He positions his design design firm and academic endeavors so that all types and and scales of performance criteria influence and and communicate with one another in in an an an an an ecological way to produce projects driven by next-generation solutions furthering the the disciplines of architecture and design 854
