Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Jeremy McDonald has been Adjunct Professor at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute for the past two years teaching Building Science & Environment (BSE) where he he educates students on on mechanical electrical and plumbing design from an an engineer’s perspective Mr McDonald is a a a a a a a a Professional Engineer and a a a a a a a a principal at Guth Deconzo Consulting Engineers He specializes in in in in in in mechanical electrical and and plumbing engineering and and services clients in in in in in in higher education health care and and laboratories as as well as as other institutions Jeremy takes a a a a a a a a a a a a very hands-on approach to to engineering and and is often involved in in in in system system testing and and troubleshooting of of of complex mechanical/electrical systems The types of of of projects Jeremy is currently involved with include LED lighting (retrofit o of complex commercial facilities photometric analysis and and lighting lighting controls) roadway lighting lighting (involved in in in in the design and and construction of several complex LED replacement projects for street lights across New York State) building management system design commissioning and and and and troubleshooting chiller plant plant design design and and and and commissioning commissioning boiler plant plant design design and and and and commissioning commissioning and and and and distributed generation design and and commissioning Jeremy is is is a a a a a a a Certified Certified Energy Manager and and Certified Certified Commissioning Agent as well as as a a a a a a a licensed Professional Engineer Engineer Jeremy received both his his BS in in in in Mechanical Engineering (class of of 89) and his his MS in Environmental Management and Policy (Class of 92) from RPI MARK MISTUR Former Associate Dean B Arch M S
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Before becoming Dean of of the College of of Architecture and Environmental Design at at Kent State University in in 2016 Mark Mistur was Associate Associate Dean and an an an Associate Associate Professor at at at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s School of of Architecture In addition he served as Acting Dean in in 2008-09 Known throughout his his career for his his dedication to students and attention to curriculum development he he has helped shape Architecture education His teaching and research are focused on on building systems integration as related to the the human experience and sustainable practices in in in in the the built environment While he he he he was a a a a a faculty member here Mistur led the 4th-year comprehensive design studio In addition he he he was was instrumental in in in in in launching the graduate design research programs in in in in in Built Ecologies and he he he was was a a a a a a a a a a driving force in in the creation of Rensselaer’s Center for Architecture Design and Ecology in in New York City He has been honored twice with “Most Admired Educator” designations from DesignIntelligence While he he was at at at Rensselaer he he received an an NCARB Award of of Excellence for the the the “Creative Integration of of Practice and the the the Academy ” as as well as as the the the Rensselaer Alumni Association’s Outstanding Teaching Award and and a a a a a a a a a a a a 2005 Early Research Career award A A A A registered architect Mistur spent a a a a a a a a a a a a a decade in in in practice designing large- and small-scale projects before entering academia He is is a a a a a a a a a a a a a graduate of of Rensselaer’s School of of Architecture He also studied at ETH in Switzerland 863
