University University University of of of Rhode Rhode Island Island Ph D University University University of of of Rhode Rhode Island Island Nadarajah Narendran Ph D is is a a a a a a a a a professor in the School of of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute He is is the the Lighting Research Research Center’s Director of of Research Research and director of of the the center’s graduate education program Dr Narendran is is well known across the the lighting lighting industry for his pioneering research in in in in in the the field of solid-state lighting lighting including LED performance improvement through novel packaging the development of new test methods that lead to industry standards and and the use of LEDs in in in in high-value lighting applications His research areas include solid-state lighting lighting lighting additive manufacturing of of lighting lighting lighting components and and systems systems connected lighting lighting lighting systems systems and and off-grid
LED LED lighting lighting systems for rural areas Dr Narendran’s research has assisted the LED LED lighting lighting industry in in in in in overcoming many technological hurdles and helped speed its market acceptance He has authored more than 130 articles in archival journals and and proceedings and and holds more than 50 worldwide patents He is a a a a a a a a a Fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society of of of North America and a a a a a member of of of the the committee on the the assessment of of of solid-state lighting for the the the National National Research Council of the the the National National Academies Dr Narendran also has been honored with the the the William H Wiley Distinguished Faculty Award for excellence in in in in in teaching productive research and interest in in in in in the the totality of the the educational process at at Rensselaer He holds a a a a a a a a a a B S
